TORONTO, July 11, 2024 – The Canadian Research Insights Council (CRIC) is pleased to announce the launch of four new scholarships that were established by the CRIC Diversity & Inclusion Committee and are designed to attract Black and Indigenous Students to the Canadian research, analytics and insights industry.  As announced at the conclusion of the H* Factor Conference, the scholarships are being provided in lieu of speakers gifts.

The scholarships respond to the Canadian findings of the 2022 GRBN Survey that found that Black and Indigenous people are underrepresented and most likely to consider leaving our industry due to discrimination.

“These scholarships represent an important first step to enhancing representation in our industry,” stated Lisa Wright, Chair of the CRIC D&I Committee and VP, Strategy & Business Development at Canadian Viewpoint.  “The CRIC D&I Committee is also working on additional initiatives to enhance diversity both in our industry and in the insights we deliver.

The new scholarships will cover the fees for the CAIP Exam Prep Seminar and for writing the CAIP Exam (a total value of $1,000).  Applicants must identify as Black/African/Afro Caribbean or Indigenous, demonstrate financial need and demonstrate an interest in a career in market research.

Eligible candidates should complete the application form. Applications will be reviewed by the CRIC D&I Committee.
